Project description

The project purpose is to pool existing know-how of project partners as well as generate new know-how in the application of gamified and game-based approaches – both digital and analogue – in teaching basic skills. The project builds on the premise that low skilled persons are less prone to take advantage of adult education offers due to negative experiences leading to low motivation and expectation of failure. The application of game-based and gamified approaches in teaching basic skills is seen as a contribution to solving motivational issues.

The project will generate two intellectual outputs:

  1. guidebook for teaching with serious games, with learning designs, study cases produced in the project and structured recommendations on how to implement new learning designs with serious games.
  2. An open online training course on teaching, titled "Changing the game". During the project lifetime the course will first be presented as a real-time online course with synchronous participation, and later as an open e-learning resource for asynchronous participation.

In addition, the project will aim to have regional impact by holding five synchronous multiplier events facilitated by video conference, for an invited external audience of more than 200 persons in all. The partners will also hold two workshops at European network annual conferences to give information about the project outputs.
